The automotive industry is a variety of businesses and organizations in the design, development, manufacture , marketing and sale of motor vehicles are involved . It is one of the world's most important economic sectors by revenue . The automotive industry does not include the fuel industry dedicated to the maintenance of the car after delivery to the end user such as garages and service stations.

Other potentially powerful automotive markets are Iran and Indonesia. Automotive emerging markets to buy more cars than established markets. According to a JD Power study , emerging markets accounted for 51 percent of global Lichtfahrzeugverkäufeim 2010. The study expects this trend to accelerate.
